The Ginger Tea Recipe Your Body Is Craving

Ginger has always been an “it” root vegetable, but it hasn’t always been as accessible or as affordable as running into Whole Foods or Pressed Juicery for a shot at the onset of every cold. In fact, in the Middle Ages, just one pound of ginger held a value equal to that of an entire live sheep!

Its benefits are plentiful. Ginger reduces inflammation, has antibacterial properties, reduces menstrual pains, regulates blood sugar, and stimulates digestion. What more could a girl ask for!?

Given that we are in the dead of winter, and tomorrow is #NationalHotTeaDay we’d like to share an easy Ginger Root Tea recipe today.

Ginger Root Tea

2-inch piece of ginger root, peeled and chopped
1 lemon
Honey
6 cups water

  • Bring chopped ginger and water to a boil, then simmer.
  • Mix in the juice of one lemon and a squeeze of honey.
  • Let everything simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • Strain and serve!
